Our Story

Embracing The Magic Of Performance

The Wings Family was born from a humble beginning, sprouting on a dining room table and flourishing into a renowned name in the West Midlands. Our journey commenced with a pot of funding, a gift from the Butterfly Effect endorsement into the Castle Vale community. Inspired by the butterfly’s wings, our name, ‘The Wings Family,’ reflects the essence of inspiration and growth that defines our story.

Starting in a small studio, our community quickly embraced the energy and passion that defined Wings. As our family of students grew, so did our aspirations. We then had to expand into a community space above Castle Vale Swimming Baths, only to outgrow that too. Our journey led us to another community hall, a temporary home that too felt the bounds of our soaring ambitions.

Driven by the growth and enthusiasm of our students, we recognised the need for a space uniquely ours, a place with room for creativity to bloom and a stage to call home. Finally, we found our haven in The Kingsbury Village Theatre. For five years, we graced its stage, bringing entertainment and joy to audiences and families in the surrounding areas.

As the Wings Family continued to evolve, we sought a space that could accommodate our expanding community and aspirations. Our migration led us to Wilnecote High School, a vibrant space where we now proudly run all our classes and Theatre School Showcases. Here, we continue to foster a sense of belonging, inspire creativity, and provide a stage for dreams to take flight.

The Wings Family is more than just a name; it’s a testament to the transformative journey we’ve embarked upon together. From a dining room table to Wilnecote High School, our story is one of growth, resilience, and the unwavering belief in the power of community. Join us as we continue to spread our wings and create lasting memories in the heart of the West Midlands.
